Got Cat Litter? Our cats will use 20,800 pounds in the next 12 months!

The kitties at Purrfect Pals live in free roaming indoor areas, with at least one litter pan per cat, sometimes more. You see, some cats like one litter pan for pee and one pan for poop.

And then there are the fussy cats who like a specific type of litter besides the non-clumping clay variety mixed with wood pellets (to absorb pee and control odor).

Our Monroe Corrections Kitten & Cat Connections program receives all of their food, toys and litter from us at the shelter for the foster dads to use.

Kittens in our foster care homes also use clay litter that we provide so we need to have at least 400 pounds a week available for distribution. It adds up quickly, even with coupons and low prices at a local large retailer.

We budget $7,000 a year to purchase litter, supplemented by the occasional donation from our offsite adoption partners and Amazon Smile shoppers.

$56 buys a week's supply of clay litter. $140 covers the cost for a week's supply of both clay and wood pellets, which are delivered to us by the pallet (quarterly) so we can get the best price.

If litter is your bag (pun intended), won't you chip in? The cats and kittens of Puget Sound and their caregivers would appreciate it so much! There is no greater gift we can give our cats than a happy and healthy environment to thrive in!
