Provide Surgery and Major Medical Care for Cats and Kittens in Need!

One of the very special parts of the Black Cat Ball Live Auction is the Fund-A-Need "auction" which has no losers, and a very big group of winners: every single cat who needs to be cared for at Purrfect Pals Cat Shelter!

At the Black Cat Ball Gala, and here online, our Fund-A-Need provides a way for our community to step up and generously support the hundreds of cats and kittens who need us most, those that other shelters and rescue groups might not have the resources to help. This includes older cats, cats with major medical needs, cats with chronic illnesses - including FIV and Feline Leukemia - and those with behavioral challenges. We believe that every cat is adoptable… some just need longer than others to find their forever homes. Our sanctuary provides a loving home for these special cats for as long as they need it and we are committed to providing them with high quality medical care while they are with us.

Goku

One-year-old Goku and his sister arrived at Purrfect Pals as kittens and it was immediately obvious he would need special care for the rest of his life. He was in and out of the emergency room several times as a young kitten. It was discovered that he had developmental issues with his bone structure, cataracts, chronic upper respiratory infections, asthma and thyroid issues. At over a year old, he still has the bones of a kitten. His little tongue is always sticking out and we're not quite sure what that's about. In just over one year, Goku has accrued over $8,000 in expenses from outside veterinary specialists. Because of this new program, though, Dr. Kasper, our in-house Veterinarian and Goku's primary care doctor, is able to make important decisions regarding his care without worrying if we have the funds available to pay for it. Goku is now living in a wonderful foster home and continues to receive high-quality care, no matter the cost, because of Purrfect Pals.

This year for our Black Cat Ball Fund-a-need, we are asking you to contribute to our Tipper Fund so that we can continue to provide the surgeries and major medical care that special cats like Goku will need in 2017, 2018 and beyond.

Purrfect Pals is a frugal organization that spends donations wisely, but we do not believe that money should be a factor when deciding whether a cat should live or die. We prefer to base those decisions on a cat's quality of life. This year, Purrfect Pals has spent approximately $4,600 a day to keep our doors open and ensure we can provide the medical care, food and shelter needed for each and every cat and kitten that finds its way to our door. This daily expense can increase drastically when a special kitty like Goku arrives in need of emergency treatment or major surgery. We hope to be able to welcome each and every one of them with open arms in 2017, 2018 and beyond. We won't be able to do that without your help, however.

Please give generously to help Purrfect Pals fulfill our mission to end cat homelessness in the Puget Sound region. Give knowing that you'll be helping cats that would likely have had no chance at all anywhere else. Together, we can provide the medical care, food and love that these kitties will need and provide them with second chances... Because every cat matters.
